Angularity of zeolite grains and tapered internal pore spaces allow for removal of suspended solids by bridging, straining, adhesion, adsorption and flocculation.Zeolite, will remove ammonia from water. This reduces the need for chlorine and the formation of chloramines. The porous structure of Zeolite is imbued with sodium ions, which remove ammonia ions through ion exchange.Lower ammonia ratios enable a better water balance and a reduced need for supporting chemicals. This Mineralogic-Petrographic report is related to the sample of Rota Mining Co.
From Kalabak Damları district,Gordes,Manisa,Turkey.Coordinates of the sample location arex: 09030 , y: 05315 (in map of K20bl).
The Gordes-Kalabak sample is volconic dust tuff and has a rhyolitic-rhyodacitic character.The rock has widely altered to zeolite mineral. Type of zeolite is clinoptilolite.
The quantitative content of this mineral is 95% (in weight).
The sample do not contain quartz,mica, contain minor amount feldspar and smectite. The clinoptilolite of the sample is K and Ca rich type. (This report is prepared in 11.06.2005 by Istanbul Technical University Mining Faculty) Chemical Composition:
